We are generally Occupied in TWO TYPES of Activities in Our Work.
1. Value Add Work…These are Your Efforts which add Value to the End result. These are the Activities Which Your Customer is Willing to Pay for.
2. Non-Value Add Work…These are the Activities Which keep You Occupied but Do Not Add Any Value to the End Result. These Activities are simply called as Waste.
Try to Identify Which of the following tasks are Waste and Which are Value:-
– Putting Signature on Document
– Moving Document from One Department to Other
– Waiting for Approval
– Briefing Colleague What to do
– Calling Someone to Check for Missing Information
– Searching Something
– Correcting Mistakes
– Giving command to Computer
– Waiting for Computer to Complete Processing
